We recently shot our latest campaign just north of Auckland, in picturesque Matakana, and we can’t wait to go back.
Perfect as a day trip for Aucklanders wanting a easy trip out of town, or an ideal long weekend get away for those further afield.
With summer just around the corner, we thought we would document our favourite spots in the sunny, winery filled region.
Our new campaign was bought to life at a location nestled into the hills of Matakana, overlooking Tawharanui beach. With expansive views over vineyards in one direction, and the ocean on the other, it was an idyllic few days out of the office.
Boasting limestone walls, and floor to ceiling windows designed to perfectly capture the views, the house was our dream location. And only 10 minutes from the best coffee in Matakana, we made immediate dream plans to relocate the Auckland office.
Our morning commute out to the house took us via Tawharanui beach, a white sanded gem hidden amongst the national park. Driving over rolling hills and native coastal forests each morning does something to an Aucklanders soul.
Take our place this weekend, and head out to Matakana for some salty air, sunshine and stellar flat whites.
Ringawera Baker Our early morning caffeine saviors. We swung by Ringawera each morning on the way to the location house, picking up coffees and an assortment of delicious pastries. Serving Ozone coffee and the best Danish pastries we’ve had in a while, its definitely worth the stop.
Matakana Village Farmers Market A bustling market open every Saturday. From crepes and pastries to artisan meats and humble sausage rolls, there’s a stall to suit everyone.
Brick Bay Winery and Sculpture Trail Open daily and serving locally sourced fresh produce. Indulge in a long lunch, then walk it off wandering through their expansive sculpture trail, which takes you on a picturesque path throughout the winery and surrounds.
Matakana Market Kitchen Our go-to for tasty, healthy lunch on the go. The Raw Vegan Power Salad was a team favourite – it’s definitely not as boring as it sounds.
The Farmers Daughter A short drive into Omaha will take you to new local favourite, The Farmers Daughter. Overlooking the Omaha estuary, and serving fresh bread, coffee and delicious healthy food, this is an ideal spot for brunch or lunch.
