Your friendly reminder that what we wear matters, but how we feel matters more.

We are excited to partner with Everyday Solitude, the team behind the Everyday Conversations podcast and Card Game, to chat about self-acceptance, which feels like a natural fit (pun intended). It's a topic that's close to our hearts, especially in our fitting rooms, where we face our own reflections and hear your stories too.
We've always been about dressing in ways that make us feel good, but sometimes, what we really need is a conversation that does the same. Because the size of your jeans, the age you're turning this year and the version of you showing up today all play a part in how getting dressed feels. So... let's talk about it. No pressure, just good company and even better conversations.
This is just the beginning. We're here for the feel-good kind of dressing—from the inside out. Come for the everyday conversations, stay for the pep talk.
Max x Everyday Psychology
Together with the Everyday Psychology podcast, we're getting into something that comes up a lot (especially in our fitting rooms)... self-acceptance. Spoiler: it's a work on progress for us all. Listen to Episode 8 of the Everyday Psychology Podcast: 'Self Acceptance, Body Image, and Fashion'.
Welcome to the conversation.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall...
We recently asked our community what kind of chat happens in the fitting room mirror (with yourself), and turns out our mirror talk deserves a little rebrand. 73% of you voted you'd been a little hard on yourself with "it must be the lighting", or "I'll come back when I'm feeling better" being the top picks. We get it. We've had those moments, too, where the inner critic gets loud and the mirror feels a little less kind.
That's why we're flipping the script. In every Max fitting room, you'll now find a positive affirmation, our little pep talk, to remind you that you're beautiful in every way, exactly as you are, today and every other day. Because the most important conversation you have is the one with yourself. Now go give that mirror (and yourself) something to smile about.
Let's talk about
Everyday Conversations
Designed as a tool to open real and meaningful conversations, Everyday Conversations was created by Everyday Solitude, an initiative focused on reducing the stigma around mental health to encourage connection in a safe and supportive way. It's not about having all the answers, it's about showing up for yourself and each other. This is a beautiful reminder that what we wear matters, but how we feel matters more.

How to play:
STEP 1: Gather your people together
Whether it be your best friends, your work wives, your mum, or just yourself, this is where the real conversation starts.
STEP 2: Pick a card
Take turns picking a card from the deck, reading it aloud. Each card asks something a little deeper about self-worth, confidence, identity, values, and more. It's the stuff we often don't get to talk about... but probably should.
STEP 3: Share (if you want to)
Take a moment, think about your answer, there's no pressure, just space to reflect and connect. Share your answer (if you want to), before moving onto the next card and questions.
STEP 4: Let the conversation flow
There's no right (or wrong) way to do this. Tangents and stories are welcome. Laughter is encouraged. Tears? Let them out.
Enjoy the conversation in good company.
